At Hillview, we value the rich learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. Through excursions and outdoor education experiences, students are encouraged to explore their environment, develop new skills, and strengthen relationships within our school community.
We offer a wide range of excursions and activities for all year levels, including farm visits, climbing, orienteering, outdoor education programmes, and school camps. These experiences enhance classroom learning while fostering confidence, teamwork, resilience, and a spirit of adventure.
Students enjoy participating in a number of events that are highlights of the school calendar. These include PREP Market Day, the Science and Technology Fair, Matariki celebrations, and many other opportunities that bring our school community together while enriching students’ learning and personal growth.
Students have opportunities to participate in a range of Christchurch-wide events and festivals, showcasing their talents and representing Hillview within the wider community. These include Cantamath, Polyfest, the Tōhono Kapa Haka Festival, Rockquest, and the Christchurch Schools’ Music Festival.
